It is well known for exotic handicrafts using wood, metal and bamboo, bell metal figurines, jewellery, hand-woven and hand-printed fabrics. The major festivals are Madai, Narayanpur Mela, Bhoramdeo Festival, Goncha festival, Champaran Mela, Bastar Dussera etc.
